Who we are

Inburgeringsexamen.nl is part of Inburgeringscursus.nl, a trade name of OBH Media, established at Marten Meesweg 101, 3068 AV Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 96292695). OBH Media is the data controller. You can reach us at info@inburgeringscursus.nl.

Which data we process

• Technical data every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type. Our hosting provider logs this briefly to keep the site safe and available.
• Usage data, such as which pages you view and how you arrived. This happens through cookies, only if you agree. We then load Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. See our cookie policy.
• Your cookie choice. We store it in your own browser, so the banner does not keep coming back.
• If you email us: your email address and what you write.
• If you have a writing task checked: the text you write. We send it to our checking service. We do not store the text itself. We only keep that a check took place, with the score and the time. To limit misuse we also keep a scrambled version of your IP address.
• If you do a speaking task: the audio recording of your answer. Your microphone only turns on when you click record and give permission. The recording goes to our checking service. It turns the recording into text and assesses that text. Then it makes a spoken version of your corrected answer. We do not store the recording or the text. We only keep that a check took place, with the score, the time and a scrambled version of your IP address.

Why and on what legal basis

• To run and secure the website. Basis: our legitimate interest.
• To see which pages help. Basis: your consent through the cookie banner.
• To answer your email. Basis: our legitimate interest in helping you.
• To check your writing or speaking task when you ask for it. Basis: your request. For limiting misuse: our legitimate interest.

Who we share data with

We work with these parties:

• Google (Firebase) as our hosting provider.
• Google Ireland Ltd. for website statistics (Google Analytics), only with your consent.
• Our checking service, run by Inburgeringscursus.nl (also OBH Media). It uses Google (Gemini) to assess your text.
• ElevenLabs, for speaking tasks. ElevenLabs turns your recording into text and makes the spoken version of the corrected answer.

Google and ElevenLabs may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where that happens, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU standard contractual clauses. We use no advertising cookies on this website and we do not sell your data.

How long we keep data

• Analytics data: 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
• Email: as long as needed to handle your question.
• Checking: we do not keep your text or your recording. We keep the score, the time and the scrambled IP address for 90 days. A counter for the daily limit is kept for 2 days. After that they are deleted automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you the data we hold about you;
• correct or delete it;
• restrict its use or object to it;
• give you a copy (data portability).

You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time through the cookie settings at the bottom of every page. For the other rights, email info@inburgeringscursus.nl. We reply within the legal deadline. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Changes

We update this statement when the website or our tools change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
