Dutch grammar, one rule at a time.

All the grammar for the inburgering exam, from A2 to B2. For every rule you read a short explanation in plain English. Then you practise with 20 questions. After every answer you see why it is right or wrong.

How it works

  1. Pick a rule. Start with A2 if you are not sure where you stand.
  2. Read the explanation. It takes a few minutes.
  3. Do the 20 questions. Got 16 or more right? Then you know the rule.

Questions about grammar and the exam

Do I need grammar for the inburgering exam?

Yes. There is no separate grammar exam. But in Writing and Speaking the examiner looks at how good your sentences are. In Reading and Listening grammar helps you understand the text.

Which rule should I start with?

Start with the A2 rules, from top to bottom. The rules build on each other. Already know a rule? Do the 20 questions straight away. That quickly shows whether you really know it.

Is this from DUO?

No. Inburgeringsexamen.nl is not a DUO or government website. The explanations and questions are made by the team behind Inburgeringscursus.nl. They are free.
